• Java version 1.3.1 or higher from Sun Microsystems
• An accessible database such as MySQL (RECOMMENDED), PostgreSQL, or Microsoft Access
• Laureate for speech out or ViaVoice for both input and output (currently Windows only)
• Hardware
• Room devices in our lab (lights, drapes, buttons) use X10 modules for control via computer. We have support existing for two types of computer modules: CM11a (labeled 'Interface' in the image) and the older LynX10 modules.
• Some devices (our projectors) use serial port connections and any serial port expander (to get more than one port) should work with the Metaglue system.
